Spend the afternoon creating handmade pottery with Ron Carlos, Maricopa Potter at Pueblo Grande Museum. Students will learn to hand sculpt pottery using the paddle and anvil technique, a unique style indicative of the southern Arizona tribes; i.e. Maricopa, Pima, Tohono O’Odham.
This one-day, three-hour class will provide an intimate opportunity to learn traditional pottery making technique from one of Arizona’s most notable potters. Students will use locally mined clay to create an air dried pot. This will be a make and take project. No painting or firing of pottery will be involved.
Space is limited and restricted to ages 15 and older. All supplies are included with class registration, just bring your own creativity! Discounts available for Museum Members. This workshop was made possible through the Pueblo Grande Museum Auxiliary.
