You’re invited to a Celebration of the Life of Monika Woolsey
At 11:00 a.m., we’ll gather on Pierce Street, adjacent to the weekly farmer’s market. We’ll begin with a service led by Brian Kemp-Schlemmer from City Square Church. Friends are invited to share their remembrances; if you’d like to be included on the list of speakers, please contact Brian at [email protected]
or 480-220-2571 or add your info to this Google spreadsheet: goo.gl/aDrQA3
If you would like to contribute photos or videos to include in a tribute that is being created, please email them to Ivonne Ward at [email protected]
by Friday, October 13.
After eulogies conclude, we’ll have a shared picnic. Monika was passionate about sharing her knowledge of fruits and vegetables, getting people excited about the foods that grow in their own backyards, and finding fun and creative ways to create nutritious meals.
Help us honor that passion by bringing a dish to share. (Health department rules necessitate that these dishes be baked goods or vegetarian foods – please do not bring meat/poultry dishes, dairy products, or anything that requires being held at hot or cold temperatures to be safe to eat.) We’ll gather to share stories and dine as a community. Please indicate the food, beverage, or paper products you’d like to contribute by signing up on this Google spreadsheet (https://goo.gl/FrTaAG ) or by contacting Denise Atkins at [email protected]
or via text at 602-363-1407.
This event will be held outdoors and will take place rain or shine, so please apply sunscreen accordingly. Please bring your own plate, cup, and cutlery to reduce waste.
We hope you’ll arrive early to shop the farmer’s market, which opens at 8 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m. We have an opportunity for the non-profit and community organizations that Monika supported to have representatives in attendance so Market shoppers and memorial guests could learn more and help to carry forward her work. If Monika worked with or supported your non-profit organization and you are interested in having a table at the market on October 28th, please contact Jenny Poon at [email protected]
or via text at 602-738-8001 or add your info to this Google spreadsheet: goo.gl/FW3zPi
We hope to see you on October 28th so we can share our fondest memories of Monika with each other and with her family, as we unite as a community.
