The revelations of Hollywood sexual violence, harassment, and misconduct, are growing day by day. Maybe the time is ripe for us to engage in collective catharsis, by gathering to watch exploitation films of badass women beating the shit out of men! Join us for a special exploitation double-feature of Foxy Brown (1974) and Death Proof (2007).
The films will be introduced by Dr. Mathew Sandoval of ASU’s Downtown Barrett Honors College. Stick around for a special after-screening discussion about the legacy of exploitation cinema, feminism, and postmodern filmmaking.
Foxy Brown: A badass black woman takes a job as a high-class prostitute in order to get revenge on the mobsters who murdered her boyfriend.
Death Proof: Two separate sets of voluptuous women are stalked at different times by a scarred stuntman who uses his «death proof» cars to execute his murderous plans.
