The Historical League presents Repositioning Paolo Soleri: The City is Nature, by Claire C. Carter
Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art’s curator Claire C. Carter (pictured) will present an overview of their exhibition, Repositioning Paolo Soleri: The City Is Nature, a retrospective of seminal American artist and architect Paolo Soleri (1919 – 2013). Claire will talk about Soleri’s personal engagement with the art and architecture of his time; his relationship with Frank Lloyd Wright; his influence on the American counterculture and the artisan craft program that continues to underwrite the expenses of maintaining Cosanti and Arcosanti—two experimental communities built by Soleri in the Arizona desert.
Event is free. Does not include access to Arizona Heritage Center museum exhibits.
