Self-taught artists Josh Louchheim and Cindy Brower will take you on a flight through their surrealistic landscapes and visions.
Louchheim has exhibited his artwork throughout Arizona including the MonOrchid, the Herberger and most recently the Walter Art Gallery in Scottsdale. Louchheim’s paintings are a combination of the natural world and the world within his head. He states, “I am a landscapist and when I begin a piece the first thing I paint is the sky. The sky is what sets the tone for the story in each painting.” His titles act as guides to the meaning behind each piece.
Brower’s paintings have an element of hope as she represents the dualism of life and the creative force in all things «good» and «bad”. Brower states, “My goal is to embrace light and darkness … humor against gravity; confidence against uncertainty; unity against isolation; love against fear; pitting our feelings of chaos against our search for peace.” Brower has exhibited work since the late 90s, including shows at the Kerr Cultural Center, the Herberger, and Phoenix Center for the Arts.
