Presented by Dr. Andy Lenartz
Nature Deficit Disorder is a term coined by Louv (2005) to describe negative consequences resulting from an increasingly sedentary lifestyle, with limited time outdoors and a lack of unstructured outdoor playtime, particularly for children. Research on Nature Deficit Disorder attempts to make a clear link between a sedentary, increasingly indoor lifestyle, focused on heavy use of electronic devices, and many of the negative health outcomes that our society is facing.
